WHY Vote For ME?
As a nearly 40-year resident of Visalia, my desire to serve the people of Area 2 as a School Board Trustee stems from seeing our own four sons graduate from Golden West High School fully College ready.
Through many years I have been the Band Booster President at Golden West,(rallying parents and students) a Guest Speaker in Health Science Classes for 25 years addressing Divorce, Dating and Preparing for Marriage, Radio Talk Show Host for 6+ years focused on Teens and Parents and former Pastor and Executive Director of Youth For Christ assisting 1,000’s of Parents and Students.
I have a goal to instill the characteristics of a “Life-Long Learner” in every student. Through my 3rd Grade Teacher-Wife, I’ve witnessed first-hand the struggles and triumphs of educating this generation.
Parents should have a greater sense of engagement, confidence, and encouragement with Teachers and Administrators.
As a Grand Parent I am committed to the 3 R’s – Reading, ‘Riting, and ‘Rithmatic along with History, Science, and Fine Arts, (social reconstruction should be left out.)
Our students should graduate qualified to enter college or be career ready if they choose vocational training. Statewide data shows Visalia Unified currently has nearly the worst results in the Central Valley.
